So I'm running a little behind on this one! Before Kelly and I went to Indiana, Kentucky and North Carolina I went on a really fun engagement session with Marina & Jason. They were so much fun, we went bowling together! Okay so not a normal engagement session but they met when Jason worked at the snack counter at a bowling alley (years ago) and Marina would always order french fries and a coke. Jason said he won her heart, or at least got her attention, when he started to give her french fries on the house!
We went from the bowling alley and headed to their favorite beach in Carpenteria. We hung out until sunset and had a great time just hanging out and playing in the sand. This was a great day!
Friday was a great start to a long engagement road trip. On Wednesday evening Jim and I took a red eye flight back east and stayed in Chicago for the night. On Friday afternoon we headed out to South Bend, Indiana to Notre Dame for Joseph and Carolyn's engagement session. Even though their wedding is in California they really wanted their photos to be taken at Notre Dame, after all, this is where they met! It's so great that they made the trip to meet us here to share such a special day with us. We are so happy to be able to give them engagement photos that reflect such a personal, important part of their lives.
All I can say is that is was a beautiful day in Santa Barbara this past Sunday!! 92 degrees, sunny, cool breeze off of the beach and Vanessa and Juve were ready for the beach and the night!
We had so much fun on this shoot! Jim and Juve talked about how they love shoes and Vanessa and I stayed focused on the engagement shoot and wedding plans. It was a perfect day of walking in the park, taking a stroll on the beach and finishing it all off on State Street in downtown S.B. Loved it!

This past Sunday we had two great engagement sessions. We started the morning with Silvina and Gilberto at his family's ranch in Santa Paula. Silvina is a friend of mine, so when she asked if I would photograph her wedding I was so excited! I can't wait to photograph their wedding in two weeks!

After leaving the ranch we waited for sunset and headed out to Malibu to complete Alisa and Jeff's session. We had so much fun playing in the water and capturing such a great couple!

Yesterday was such a great day. The first thing Travis did when we got to the barn was say to Amanda, "all we need now is a pitch fork." It was a great way to start off a fun day in Cayucos. Amanda and Travis drove us into the back country of their little beach town, the back country was only 5 minutes from the beach, you have to love that!

So from the barn we took a little drive and ended up back at the beach where they could let their dog "Jager" run and play, and get himself into some of the photos. Jim and I are still not sure if he was more excited to play in the water or have his picture taken.....

It was so worth the drive up there, we got to share a beautiful sunset with Amanda and Travis, oh and Jager! It was one of those days when you really get to say you love your job!

What a day today! We picked up Jessica and Harrison and drove with them to Dodger Stadium this morning. We were a little worried with the fog rolling in, but when we got to the stadium parking lot the lighting was perfect! It may have been the smiles coming from the two of them lighting up the entire area, but either way it was great!

So it is obvious that the two of them are huge Dodger fans, but they are also baseball fans. In fact, Harrison proposed to Jessica during a friendly game, he pitched her the ball, and when she hit it he replaced the ball in his mitt with an engagement ring and before getting on one knee he said to her "wow, look what you did to this ball" she dropped her bat and well.....here we are at Dodger Stadium!

One thing I love about living in Southern California is there is always a new location! Today Shelly and Andy took us to their friends private ranch, a beautiful setting for their engagement photos. From the orchard to the reservoir to setting sun everything went great and hopefully Andy got home in time to watch the end of the game!

I loved their wit! There were several times Kelly and I had to stop shooting because we were laughing to hard, well at least I was. All I can say is that they remind me a lot of Kelly and I in their sarcasm! I can't wait until their wedding, I can already tell it's going to be great!

Another perfect Southern California day! We learned a lot about Diane and Marlo today. We already knew they are getting married in August, but we didn't know that they started dating back in high school. Diane took us to the park where they use to meet while still in high school and showed us the tree where they would meet under, so of couse we had to take a picture of them under the tree.

They were so much fun, playing in the kids playground, Diane jumping on Marlo's back (we didn't have to tell her!) and both of them enjoying the perfect weather at the beach.

We began the weekend wondering if the weather was going to allow us to have an engagement session with Jennie and Jake today. Luckly the rain moved on past Santa Barbara and left us with beautiful skies to work with! Even though it was a little chilly out, after walking through Chase Palm Park and over to the pier (with all of our conversation) we didn't even notice the cold! I think I can say for all of us that today was a beautiful day in Santa Barbara, with or without the rain!
