Roadtrip-Last Stop

On our last day of our road trip we had to do something fun. Since New Mexico is known for it's UFO sightings we couldn't help ourselves, we had to stop at the UFO museum in Roswell, NM! Aliens welcome!

From there we actually went to "another planet", well if you're a Star Wars fan you know what I mean. White Sands New Mexico is amazing! It's the home planet of Luke Skywalker! Okay, so Jim made me say that. The dunes are so beautiful, and white!

We were lucky to have such a beautiful day, it could not have been any better, Jim and I playing in the dunes and he actually got a picture of me.......... taking this photo!

Road Trip-Oklahoma

Yesterday we started out on I-40 and decided to check out some of the original Route 66!  This is where we met John, a retired teacher who had originally wanted to build an airplane and fly it across the U.S., but decided to go for dream number 2, building his very own Route 66 on his property!  He began building his replica artifacts in 1998 and is still building new ones today!

Our second stop was at Pops, a gas station and diner in Oklahoma. They had hundreds of soda bottles in the windows!Img_9577

Roadtrip 2008-Part 2

While I was working on my "Going Green" Project, Jim spent our last day in Florida at the Daytona 500. Due to the crowds, the Daytona 500 is defintely not my cup of tea. Jim came back with pictures of empty chairs, but I'm not buying it...especially since it took him three hours to get back!Img_84081

Now this is the crowd I envisioned...

So yesterday we started our trip back towards California, with our first stop being in Nashville, TN. We saw some pretty interesting sites driving through Georgia from a giant peach to a bbq on the back of a motorhome!

We arrived at my very best friend Jamie's house in Nashville pretty late, but I was so excited when Jim woke me up this morning to tell me it was snowing outside! Being a Southern California native, it's not something I see very often and even a little snow is pretty exciting!

Roadtrip 2008

So Jim and I were all set to head on tour (with the band he plays with, The Love Kills Theory) through the Midwest, when we got the call the day before we were set to leave that the tour had been cancelled! Rather just sit at home for two weeks we decided to packed our bags and head to Florida. Our plan is to take I-40 to Nashville, where we will stay the night at my friend Jamie’s house. From Nashville we will head down to Orlando for the weekend where we will catch up with some old friends before turning around. We have no set plans for our way back and will take our time….just snapping away! Here are a few images from our drive through Arizona.

We ate at The Galaxy Diner off old Route 66 in Flagstaff, Arizona. A few years ago Jim and I made a rule of “no fastfood stops while on the road”; eating at small diners on the road just enhances the experience!

Here’s Jim standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. It’s such a fine sight to see, but I’m the only girl slowing down to take a look at him.

Bay Area for Turkey Day!

Since Jim and I had our first consective days off in quite awhile, we decided to go to my Aunts house up in the Bay area. It was a nice relaxing weekend and we got enjoy our time with her little dogs! They were the cutest dogs ever...she had a total of five, but my favorites were Pogo and Cody!

So today we headed back home because tomorrow we are going to Disneyland with Kylie & Zack (we'll defintely keep you updated on our adventures!). The traffic was pretty good, until we got stuck on the Bay Bridge! Of course while on the bridge I reminded Jim of the earthquake in 1989 when the bridge collapsed, but we made across slowly and safety. Since we were stuck I pulled out my camera and got a few cool shots!
